His cur- rent research interests are on the cell biology of neurons, specifically how synapses form, are maintained, and change with activity and disease. His work largely focuses on the neurotransmitter receptors, nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, and NMDA-and AMPA-type glutamate receptors, which are responsible for rapid postsynaptic excitatory responses. The goal of his research is to understand how neurons traffic these receptors to and from synapses, anchor them in synapses, and how these receptors are involved in synapse formation and plasticity.",
