Abstract
Fuming of stannous sulfide (SnS) from slags is an accepted process for the separation of tin from slags. In this study, the fuming of tin from slags as SnO vapor was re-examined from theoretical and practical points of view. Four types of experiments were carried out - fuming from liquid slags held in CO-CO//2 and CO-Ar mixtures at atmospheric pressure, during bubbling of CO, during bubbling of hydrogen, and under reduced pressure.
