Abstract
Research involves choosing the most feasible, efficient, cost effective, ethically sound study design that will answer the question most accurately with the least bias. Sounds kind of boring to me. But research can be fun and professionally rewarding. This chapter discusses reasons why you should do research in Emergency Medicine (it’s more than just changing the world), ten pearls on how to become a successful researcher (the goal is having fun while being productive), and the anatomy (“What is the research made of?”) and physiology (“How does it work?”) of research. My hope is that this chapter inspires you to become a passionate, productive, and impactful researcher.
