Abstract

We demonstrate that Glauber screening effects considerably reduce the parity violation asymmetry AL for p + A scattering as compared to p + N scattering (e.g. by factor ∼2 for the p + H2O data). We show that AL as measured at p N = 6 GeV/c is larger than the estimates within the multiperipheral approach by the factor ∼102.
