Global PIM industry of US $2.1 billion predicted for 2010

Abstract

Quality of products is very important problem. Powder injection moulding process provides manufacture of high-quality products. Powder injection moulding industry (PIM) is currently producing components worth US $400 million per year and is growing at 22 percent per year. The industry has potential market in the year 2010 of $2.1 billion. Report about this evaluation has been made by R.M. German and R.G. Cornwall on basis of sequence of surveys and conversations with the industry. Worldwide the authors estimate there are more than 225 companies with direct employment in parts production, with employment exceeding 4000 people. In addition, many powder suppliers, equipment vendors, research institutes, consultants, and professional organizations work.
