Abstract

This paper examines an example buildup plan for deployment of the Block II GPS satellites. Used as a basis for selection are test site coverage and global coverage. The method that determines the order of placement within the constellation is a trial-and-error" approach that maximizes global coverage. Based on the availability of Block I satellites currently in operation, the full constellation is built up around these satellites.
