Abstract

The effects of hydraulic gradient applied during the measurement of hydraulic conductivity in the laboratory were investigated for a clay slurry using both consolidation and hydraulic conductivity tests. The results of the experimental program compare well to predictions given by a closed form analytical solution for flow under steady state conditions. Lastly, the implications of the research are discussed with regard to current hydraulic conductivity testing practice.
