title = "Harvesting and utilization of crop residues as biomass feedstock in China",
abstract = "Current status of crop residues and their utilizations in China was presented through analyzing statistical data. Existing problems in crop residue harvesting technologies and equipment in China were also described. Results indicated that hay harvesting equipment in China is in an early development stage. Small round and square balers were developed and available on the Chinese market; but bale collection and transport are still labor intensive. Status and field collection equipment for typical crops are imported from international agricultural machine manufacturers. The investment cost, however, is a big concern. Finally, the trend of future development in application of crop residues and collection equipment in China is discussed.",
