Abstract
Head injuries are some of the most common injuries encountered by prehospital providers. Patients with head injuries commonly have concomitant facial and cervical spine trauma. This chapter discusses the initial evaluation and management of patients with traumatic brain injuries and facial trauma in accordance with ATLS protocols as well as measures that can be taken to aid in the prevention of secondary brain injury.
