Abstract

A project to deliver a core course in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington (UW) through the Internet is discussed. The web-based distance learning section of Transport processes II, known as 'Heat Transfer On-Line' (HTOL), was offered in Spring 2001. The project allowed students to participate in the Collage of Engineering Co-op Program without falling behind in the sequence of required chemical engineering courses. An overall goal of the course was to provide comparable learning experiences for distance and on-campus students.
