Abstract
This chapter presents portraits of each of the ten research partners who were interviewed for the study. It provides glimpses into their lives as young children. The research partners ranged in age, race, gender identity, socioeconomic status, location of origin, and setting of early childhood education (public, private, or home) attended. The portraits primarily focus on their out-of-school experiences—their personalities, families, interests, and lives at home.
