High-Power Diode-Cladding-Pumped Yb:YAG Laser Based on True Double-Clad Fully Crystalline Fiber

Abstract

We present what is believed to be the first cladding-pumped lasing ever reported from a true double-clad, fully crystalline fiber. ~16 W of power was derived from Yb:YAG core, undoped-YAG clad fiber with ~37% efficiency.
