Abstract
Since its beginning in 1997, the Journal of Consumer Health on the Internet (previously titled Health Care on the Internet) has carried a column on alternative and complementary therapies. Much has changed over the past 15 years. This commentary will review some of the historically significant developments in alternative medicine research and practice.
