Abstract
Today’s nursing administrators may have impressive titles, but research shows that their power is limited compared to physicians and hospital administrators. These authors examine the literature on decision making in hospitals, with particular attention to nursing’s role. Their discussion will stimulate thinking about the potential for expanding nursing influence in hospitals.
