Abstract

Today's casting customer are demanding castings with tighter dimensional tolerances, thus placing additional demands on the peacemaker. As casting themselves become tighter, patterns themselves must be more accurate. To ensure accurate and repeatable measurements, pattern shop and tooling department measurement equipment must be evaluated. This paper describes such evaluation based on the casting dimensional tolerances, specified by the casting customer.
