Abstract
The role of hyaluronan in bovine synovial fluid model (SFM) was rheologically investigated. The bovine synovial fluid was obtained from stifle joints shortly after animal sacrifice. The samples were frozen for storage prior to measurement, but no further alterations were made to the fluid. It was suggested that HA-albumin binding does not occur at physiological pH. The results show that the model used to utilized the effect of changes in molecular weight, polydispersity, and concentration of the biopolymers found in synovial fluids.
