Abstract

Aims: To facilitate placement of left ventricular leads during cardiac resynchronization therapy system implantation. Methods and results: Preoperative magnetic resonance images of the left ventricle were rapidly integrated into the operative field, without compromise to standard workflow. The information contained in the images was used by the surgeon to guide implantation of the left ventricular lead. Conclusion: This technique may have promise for improving resynchronization outcomes by facilitating more optimal left ventricular lead positioning.
