Abstract
Executive information system (EIS) is one of the most important information systems in and beyond the 90s. A company may achieve established goals as well as obtain competitive advantages. However, successful establishment of EIS is not an easy task. In this study, a case company is used to demonstrate how to successfully establish EIS. During the establishment process, simulation models are applied to evaluate various alternatives of EIS architecture in advance to win the confidence and support of top managers. The result shows that simulation plays an key role in increasing the success probability of EIS.
