Abstract
Future high-Mach aircraft requires the fuel to serve both as the main propellant and coolant for the aircraft, placing more stringent demands on the fuel's thermal stability. The interaction of decalin and tetralin was studied under oxidative flow conditions and the effect of additives such as tetralone and indane was examined. Tetralin addition to decalin showed a decrease in stability of the fuel due to the poor oxidative stability of tetralin. Indane could slightly improve decalin's stability due to a slightly higher oxidative stability when compared to tetralin.
