title = "In-line corrosion inspection using circumferential and longitudinal ultrasonic guided waves",
abstract = "An in-line tool is researched and developed that employs circumferential and longitudinal ultrasonic guided waves to inspect the steel casing of gas wells. The principle of operation is that electromagnetic acoustic transducers generate the fundamental shear horizontal wave mode, and wave interaction with corrosion creates a reflection and reduces the transmitted signal. Strong signals have been received in both laboratory and field environments.",
