Abstract

Properties of a series of cosubstituted polyphosphazane with different ratios of trifluoroethoxy and n-hexoxy substituents were analyzed. It was found that the polymers changed from fibrous or rigid semicrystalline materials to elastomers with the increase in the amount of the hexoxy substituents. It was also observed that the increase in the amount of the hexoxy substituent enhance the swelling of the cosubstituted polymers in the aliphatic organic solvents. The results show that the 100% hexoxy-substituted polyphosphazane is completely soluble in aliphatic solvents.
