Injection molding of oxide ceramic with high performance

Abstract

Injection molding of ultra-fine 3Y-ZrO2 and Al2O 3 powders with high purity were studied in this work, which included the fluidity of feedstock, the properties of green bodies and sintered bodies. The bulk density, microstructure and bend strength of 3Y-ZrO2 and Al2O3 were also examined. Fine ceramic components, such as fiber-optic sleeves, ceramic plants and knives, with good surface finish and accurate dimension, have been made by injection molding.
