INORGANIC POLYMERS CONTAINING PHOSPHORUS IN THE MAIN CHAIN.

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Inorganic macromolecules have much in common with their conventional organic counterparts, but significant differences exist that can be traced to the special properties of elements, such as silicon, phosphorus, or the transition metals. This tutorial is a review of the range of existing polymers that contain inorganic elements, synthesis methods, and reasons for the special physical and chemical properties of such macromolecules. Opportunities and problems for the future development of this field are also discussed.
