Abstract
An instrumented grinding testbed designed for grinding research is introduced. The testbed features embedded capacitance gages to completely measure the relative motion between the spindle rotor and stator. The testbed allows efficient exploration of grinding problems. Specific examples illustrating the advantages of the testbed are presented.
