Abstract
This article examines some of the methodological issues researchers confromt when conducting research on work-family issues within corporate or business settings. These issues include (1) gaining access and entry, (2) the need for high quality data from multiple sources, and (3) special issues posed by program evaluation research within the work site. This is accomplished by reviewing extant literature on flextime, employer-sponsored child care, the family‧s influence on workplace productivity, and experiments in imporving the quality of worklife. Conclusions emphasize the conceptual utility of building ecological contrasts into research designs.
