Abstract
In this section, brief introductions to local, global, and multi-objective optimization algorithms and their application to plasmonic and optical nanoantenna and metasurface design are given. Additionally, a flowchart which discusses how to select the appropriate optimization algorithm for a given inverse-design problem is provided.
