Abstract
In this paper we present the results of our investigation of a multi-element antenna design, which was inspired by Laufer and Ono. The objective of this effort is to evaluate the suitability of this type of antenna for VHF (30-88 MHz) applications. The Numerical Electromagnetics Code (NEC4) is utilized to analyze the characteristics of the antenna system. Three different excitation methods were studied to seek improvement in overall performance. Some representative numerical results are presented in the paper and conclusions based on these results are included.
