Abstract
High levels (about 4000-fold) of resistance to dieldrin were isolated by screening field-collected populations of Drosophila melanogaster. The resistance was made homozygous following 2-4 generations of selection. A single, major gene mapping to the left arm of chromosome III was solely responsible for resistance. -from Authors
