Abstract

The study of psychotropic plants in Andean cultures has received considerable attention, especially the topics regarding the importance of its use as part of ceremonies and rituals that were held in different Andean societies. Nevertheless, very few of them consider the importance of this plants and other goods as essential parts of the exchange relationships. We infer that in the interregional interaction relationships the use and traffic of two psychotropic plants, such as the Anadenanthera colubrina and Nicotiana tabacum, strengthen the links between suppliers, intermediaries and consumers.
