Lateral Metroplasty and Hysteroscopic Uterine Septum Surgery

Adverse fertility and pregnancy outcomes are known complications of uterine anomalies. The diagnosis and treatment options specifically for T-shaped uteri and septate uteri are reviewed. Hysteroscopic uterine surgery has long been a minimally invasive therapy for improving reproductive outcomes in the setting of a septate uterus; however, the success of this intervention in T-shaped uterine malformations has not been completely characterized. A critical aspect of postoperative care for hysteroscopic metroplasty is intrauterine adhesion prevention.
