Abstract
Provides information on the severity and frequency of SO2-induced injury to seedlings of 58 species. From these results, a classification of species' responses was developed and used to examine an eco-physiological conjecture, namely, that an inverse relationship exists between a species sensitivity of SO2 and its shade tolerance. The classification is useful for forecasting and for diagnosing polutant injury in field situations.-from US Govt Reports Announcements, 10, 1982
