Abstract

A three-dimensional phase-field model was proposed to analyze the precipitate microstructure in Ni-base superalloys. CALPHAD method was used to extract the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters from the existing databases. The compositional dependence of atomic mobilities and elastic constants was considered to solve phase-field equations and elastic equilibrium equations. Analysis suggested that Ni3Al precipitate shape evolution in a disordered face centered cubic matrix depended on the balance between interfacial energy and elastic energy relaxation.
