Abstract
Reported in this paper are results of a series of experiments conducted in liquid crystal cored fibers, where several nonlinear optical phenomena have been observed with a relatively much lower optical threshold fluence. Specifically, passive all-optical limiting action have been found to occur at threshold fluence a few times smaller than their thin film or bulk cell counterpart. Together with these observations, stimulated back scattering and nonlinear pulse propagation effect may also occur.
