Abstract
Pat Gao shared his views on the contributions of Chi Pang-yuan in expanding the presence of Taiwanese literature throughout the world. Chi Pang-yuan, an editor, author, and a retired professor of foreign languages and literatures at National Taiwan University (NTU) made significant efforts at publishing works of other authors and her own to expand the presence of the country's literature throughout the world. Her autobiography, Great-Flowing River was published in 2009, deriving its title from the Liao River that flows through her hometown in mainland China. Her major effort involved guiding an English translation project of the country's literary works selected and edited by her and four other scholars. This effort resulted in the publication of An Anthology of Contemporary Chinese Literature by Washington University Press in Seattle.
