Abstract

A study was conducted on the genetic algorithms fractal antenna elements (GA-FAE) design scheme which employes a GA to select the optimal self-affine fractal geometry of the antenna as well as the load locations and load component values required for multiband operation. It was found, while measuring several prototype loaded FAEs, that performance discrepancies were observed between the simulations and measurements of these antennas.
