Abstract
Longitudinal designs involve at least three waves of observations of the phenomenon under investigation. This entry discusses the types of longitudinal design, its advantages over cross-sectional design, and primary reasons for selecting longitudinal design over cross-sectional design. The property of longitudinal data is also discussed, followed by options for longitudinal data analyses and their interpretation.
