N2 - The transportation test bed project evaluates the performance of bridges in the Charleston, SC, region during an earthquake with a 2% probability of exceedance in 50 years. Using recently developed bridge fragility curves, and damagefunctionality relationships for bridges, an analysis is performed to determine the distribution of damage to the approximately 340 bridges in the region. The results show that the majority of the bridges would be in either the complete or extensive damage states. The most vulnerable bridges are the multi-span continuous and multi-span simply supported steel girder bridges. The bridges with the least damage were the single span bridges.
