Abstract
Magnaporthe poae sp. nov., a hyphopodiate, root-infecting fungus with a Phialophora anamorph is described. The anamorph was isolated from Poa pratensis and Poa annua roots in the course of an investigation into the aetiology of summer patch disease of turf grasses.
