Abstract

The reaction of LFeIIICl3 with Ni2(Hdfmp) 2 (L = 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane, H3dfmp = 2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzene-1,3-dicarbaldehyde dioxime) produces in the presence of triethylamine, acetate and tetrafluoroborate ions, the dark brown complex [L2Fe22-O2CMe) 2(dfmp)2(MeOH)2Ni2](BF 4)2 which is characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility measurements and found to have a paramagnetic ground state.
