Abstract

Hypocalcemia is a common finding in the surgical patient population. It may be associated with, or even caused by, other electrolyte abnormalities. Although acute management typically involves calcium replacement therapy, a systematic approach is vital to ensure the inciting etiology is identified and addressed.
