Abstract
Squamous cell carcinoma accounts for more than 90% of oropharyngeal malignancies. The increase in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) has been attributed to the increase in human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive tumors which portend more favorable outcomes when compared with carcinomas associated with chemical carcinogens. Diagnostic evaluation includes appropriate history, physical examination, imaging, and both diagnostic and interventional procedures. Therapeutic management is highly dependent on tumor stating, location, prognosis, and patient preference.
