Abstract
In the modern world of cross-sectional imaging, up to 70% of renal masses are diagnosed as incidental findings on imaging obtained for unrelated reasons. In the work-up of these lesions, the clinician must differentiate benign from malignant and clinically dangerous from indolent. This chapter discusses the appropriate selection of imaging modality, as well as the work-up and initial management of major categories of renal mass.
