Abstract
Emotions are pervasive within sports. Managing emotions effectively is arguably one of the most essential skills that athletes can develop to aid their quests for excellence and victory. In individual sports, athletes might seek out help from their coaches, sports science staff, managers, friends and family to help them reach helpful or preferred emotion states. In team sports, teammates need to regulate each other's emotions to help ensure teammates are in an emotional state that maximizes their ability to coordinate tactics.
