Abstract

The metal-mediated polymerization of acrylates was studied. The polymerization were performed using oven-dried glassware in a drybox. A synthesis of [1, 2-bis(4, 4-dimethyl-2-oxazoline-2-yl)ethane]copper(II) dichloride was presented. The NMR spectra of polymers were recorded on a Bruker DPX 300 MHz spectrometer to determine the tacticity from triad distributions. The polymer molecular weights were determined against a polystyrene standard by gel permeation chromatography on either a Waters Associates 600 using Millenium 32 software or a Shimadzu chomatograph using EZSTART 7.2 software.
