Abstract
Neutron spin echo (NSE) and small angle neutron scattering (SANS) technique were employed to study the shape fluctuations of di-2-ethylhexyl sulfosuccinate (AOT)/water/decane microemulsions. We show that NSE can directly measure the shape fluctuations of these water-in-oil droplets. A comparison of the dynamics and static measurements yields both the splay modulus, as well as the saddle-splay modulus. With the addition of butanol as cosurfactant, softening of the interface was observed.
