N2 - Microwave energy is being used to process a variety of ceramics, composite and metallic materials, especially for high-temperature materials at reduced cost as an energy conserving, ecology-friendly, and time saving technology. The method presents number of advantages over conventional methods, enhancing the reaction and diffusion kinetics, with much shorter process time, finer microstructure, higher quality products and ecology friendliness. The use of microwave process for sintering and synthesis exhibits unique features of rapid material heating, where enhancements in sintering provide much finer and uniform microstructures. The metallic materials and composites are two major industry other than ceramics using this technology to the major extent in organic and polymeric materials. The process involves a multidisciplinary approach of electrical, mechanical and software industry, for high temperature processing's to ensure the qualitative production.
