Abstract
The nanophase metal powders such as platinum and silver were prepared using microwave-polyol process. This experiment for the synthesis of nanophase platinum and silver metals were conducted using chloroplanitic acid and silver nitrate as starting precursors. Some of the advantages of the microwave-assisted reactions are selective formation of one phase over another, initial rapid heating which leads to energy savings.
