Abstract

A current-voltage expression J equals J(V) is derived for an electrochemical photovoltaic solar cell under illumination. The presence of both recombination centers and intermediary states is assumed at the semiconductor surface. The final expression obtained is in a form which is useful for design and analysis of these solar cells.
