Abstract

The modulated and ordered defect structures during the degradation of Ni-BaTiO3 multilayer ceramic capacitors were studied. The electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and transmission electron microscopy techniques were used for the purpose. It was found from the EELS analysis, that the concentration of oxygen vacancies in barium titanate with modulated or ordered structures was higher than that in the regular perovskite grains.
