Modulational instability in nonlinear PT-symmetric photonic lattices

Abstract

We study nonlinear PT-symmetric lattices, and find a variety of new phenomena, among them nonlinearly-induced transition to stable PT-symmetry, instability suppression at high nonlinearities and modulation instability in unexpected regimes.
